Man! that sucks.
I hope it all works out.
Sounds awfully painful. Nothing worse than a painful knee.

If that ortho guy starts talking cortisone or worse, that "s" word, run away as fast as you can to a chiro and a physical therapist! Run Good, when you can!

About the dropped chain. Do you know you can usually shift the chain back on without stopping? Your derailleur may need adjustment. If not, there are several products that will prevent the problem: I bought http://www.gvtc.com/~ngear/

I hope the ortho takes your running seriously and has something useful to say about your knee. I find doing different kicks in swimming helps build up different muscles and so protects my knees, but if swimming has bothered your knees you could work on swimming without kicking, as some triathletes supposedly do to save their legs. Watch out for hurting your knees pushing off from the wall.

Good luck!

That enchie thingy doesn't say anything about knees; so what's the connection? You're not between 10 and 20 years old. Are you drinking too much milk; eating too much milk chocolate or slurping down too much ice cream - making your bones overgrow, or what? And a WINGNUT??? that's one I'll have to ponder. You silly. I hope you get better. SOON!

Wow, at least you got a real diagnosis! That's progress, and in my world, RARE. There's a lot of us signed up for the MCM! I know you'll make it, too! (not so sure about me, however!)
