OF course take the PR! you are fast and you will beat it soon. and thanks for the photos, they are just gorgeous! I’ll be in West Park, NY, next month (anywhere near you?) and i hope the trees are still glorious!

On the PR? I’d count it if you want to, it won’t last long anyway. But more seriously, if you want a good rule of thumb, I only count courses that are USATF certified. Most races ’round here are, it only costs a couple hundred bucks per course, not even per year. That means that I don’t count mid-race splits as PRs, because you can’t really trust that the mile markers or timing mats were correct.

Tagged???? Gee umm thanks…lol. Great job on the PR. I understand your dilema.I had an excellent race on Friday night but the course seemed a tad short of the 6km. I spoke with the race director and she indicated they measured it twice but got conflicting readings. They are however sticking to it and saying it was 6km.I’ll like post the official results shortly.

Anyway, congrats on your PR! Take it, you earned it.

Take the PR. Absolutely. And, when mentioning the PR in the future, you are not allowed to qualify it with “I’m not sure if the course was accurate, but…” Ever.

Hmm. I think you’re right to see this as a dilemma. I’m not sure I’d claim the PR without double-checking the mileage – any way you can measure the course? However, you’re absolutely, unequivocally justified in celebrating an AG first-place. You’re probably justified in gloating over beating a cardiac-impaired person twice your age. And sounds like you ran well, regardless, even on a not-so-great day, so celebrate.

Congrats on your PR! (Of course it counts!) As for the old lady, I think her pacemaker gives her an unfair advantage–she’s a bionic senior citizen. Junior looks like a nice fellow. I’ve always been a dog person, but we adopted our cat 3.5 years ago and he?s my buddy.
