Lara, I love how you speak about 'community' it completely sincs with my own thoughts on the matter! How wonderful for you to experience that. Not to mention, way to go on the race!! awesome job indeed. My own brother died of congestive heart failure when I was 17 and he was 18 so this cause is close to my 'heart' so to speak. ;) Thanks so much for raising money for such a great cause.

Great race - and after being sick, too! The clothes/waterbottle thing cracked me up! Been there, done that! One way to not have to carry so much is to bring "throwaway" clothes. Go to the thrift store and get an old flannel shirt to keep you warm at the start and toss to the side when you warm up. A friend of mine taught me to keep a big safety pin on my mitts, and now I pin them on my shirt or leggings.

You'll get better at judging what you need as you keep doing it, and keep logging your experiences :)

Great race, Lara! You are making tremendous strides already. Can't wait to see the upcoming races. :)

And I was totally blown away when you mentioned that Cat Stevens song because I was thinking of that exact song on my long run yesterday.
