Ah, Lara. I know that pressure to be positive. But life isn't always positive and it's not a personal flaw to recognize that. Love running. It's a challenge, it takes you away from your real life, it gives you endorphins and release. You're not the only one who is having a bit of a hard time--I'm in the middle of some stuff too, and this time of year seems to stir stuff up. But I think you're totally doing the right thing in figuring out that your current situation isn't working, and that you need to figure something else out. That dissatisfaction is what will direct you (and hopefully me) on to better things. I'm thinking of you. Keep running!

Lara, I found that I didn't enjoy it until I reached a certain point. For me, it was two miles. I'm not sure why, but that was a turning point for me!

I rarely pay attention to time or pace. I know I'm slow and I don't care. anymore. I run because I can and I like to. Who cares...maybe speed will come later...then again maybe not. Us slow people have way more fun at the back of the pack then those at the front (I think) anyway.

Yes, agreed, enjoying the running is the #1 priority. If you hate it, it will never stick. Do what you love.

And I'm glad you are posting here because I missed your posts. :)

Maybe its just me, but I thought that enjoying your runs was the main point. I'm glad to see that you're doing so. Any follow-on benefits are, well, nice - but not the end all and be all of life.
