Great run, Lara! You must feel wonderful (especially now that it's over:) ) And I'm with the rest--I'll chip in, too. Go for it.

I'd support your TNT effort too! The RBF really pulled through for me when I was raising money for my marathon...and I am happy to return to favor! And I agree with Richard about the local race...besides, the closer you are to family and friends, the more support you'll have on race day!

AND KUDOS for the faster pace! It will get less shitty with time, I promise!

10% faster is more than a little bit - that's a good, solid improvement. As for the TNT work - I'm normally not a huge fan of theirs just because they don't seem very straightforward about the amount of your contribution that actually gets donated (lots of weasly math, or at least there used to be), but running for a good cause is always fun. Espscially if you're going to a local marathon, not using 20-30% of your raised funds towards transportation to Alaska or something similar.

Lara, good stuff. You are, as they say, "a good egg". I believe we can help you get that donation thing going. Let me know if you want me to help!

A funny thing about Lake Placid. Did you ever see that not-so-good movie called "Lake Placid"? It was actually filmed at Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia (a small lake on Vancouver Island). My brother lived there for 12 years. I'd almost buy that movie just to say, "hey, my brother's house was just over there!". :)

I think Team in Training gives you a donation web page too, where folks can donate directly without having to send money to you. For folks that don't know you well, this is an attractive option. You could put a little link to it on your blog like Chris says. Hey, if you are running, Lara, I will be donating!

Oh yeah, and I really like Lake Placid. I have a picture of me and my wife when we were dating, riding in a paddle boat on the lake. Aneat little town. I think its kinda hilly.

Great job on the run too! It seems I only go faster when I am absolutely hating the run. I know that sounds stupid but it just works out that way. Then next time it doesn't hurt so badly at that pace.

Don't forget that you belong to the RBF. You have over 100 runners, several of us raise money for charities. Seems like a good time to put a little PayPal donation box on your site, or... Mark the Blogfather might know the link to that online site that helps you set up contributions to charities without much fuss. In fact, you could probably google it, if you came up with worthwhile search criteria.
