So, Aaron and I have been so impressed with all the RBF meetups, we thought it logical to take things to the next level. He said is so well, I’m posting his invitation below.
OK, heres the poop. The first weekend of August (5th, 6th and 7th) is going to be the first RBF reunion. What does this mean? This means that we want the family to get together to celebrate the RBF and to further develope the great relationships we have begun. Basically we want to party together, run together, and have a great time.
The first question you may be ask is “where is it?” Great question! Mark and I will be hosting it here in Edmonton. We will party the whole weekend as well as run you through the great river valley of Edmonton. The goal: to get to know the people we have been learning about on the RBR the past couple of years.
What if you can’t make it? Another great question! We would like others, the same weekend, to also host a reunion throughout Canada, the US, Europe, Australia, and everywhere else you live. It will the the RBF REUNION WEEKEND.
We want to really take the RBF to the next level and promote some life long friendships.
So what do I do if I am hosting a RBF reunion? Well, this is what Mark and I are going to do. We would first like to pick up those from the airport and show them around. We would also like to room and board them unless they want to get a hotel, but we hope they would be our guests. While our guests are here we will show them our beautiful city and run them through the most beautiful and extensive trail system in the world.
So we are planting the seed and watering it and we hope to have a big beautiful flower on August 5, 6,7th. What do you think – are you in?
After the weekend we want everyone to send their RBF reunion photos with a brief write-up sharing their experience. We will post all of these on the main site for the world to see.
You know what one of the most common phrases I’ve heard this past two years is?
“The RBF ROCKS”.
I see it all the time in posts, emails, comments and when chatting with you. And you’re right – the RBF does rock and now it’s gonna rock some more.
One day, people will say, “remember that 1st RBF reunion?” as we’re all gathered around a pasta primer with 5000 of our closest Running Blog Family members.
Wouldn’t that be the rock’n-ist?
