A Passion for Running

Welcome to the home of Mark aka The Running Blogfather – a 40 year-old dad, husband and marathon runner who's beaten injury and is on the comeback trail!

runner is running

passion for running category: running on Thursday, August 18 2011

Long story, short: I’ve got three weeks under my belt, am running every second day and am now up to 60 minute continuous running. I’ll likely step things up to daily running within a week – alternating between 30 and 60 minute runs.

Feeling good… and I hope you are too.

Hey Mark,

I like what you’re doing over here! I myself am a relatively new runner (2 years or so) and have created my own running blog, too. It’s aimed toward runners of North Florida, and specifically, Gainesville, Fla.

Good luck and continued success,
Ben

Keep up the good work, I always find that consistency is key when it comes to run training.

I broke my leg in November 2011 and had a plate and 7 screws inserted into my right fibula.

All went well and now a year later I feel better and stronger as I stress and strain the new hardware in my shin.
As a 6’8 300# football player (49years old) doing marathons I decided it was best to take it easy and take it slow to get the leg and bones and hardware in shape as well as my lungs and cardio system.

May shot for the 8k at the Charlottesville Marathon in April and id so I will enjoy a leisurely 5 miler….
Thanks and Good job.
