A Passion for Running

Welcome to the home of Mark aka The Running Blogfather – a 40 year-old dad, husband and marathon runner who's beaten injury and is on the comeback trail!

had my body fat measured

passion for running category: running on Thursday, August 16 2007

The gym I run out of got a new-fangled device that measures body fat. Being a runner, I am of course obsessed with numbers – especially ones about me. Here are my stats:

Weight: 163 pounds
Height: 6 foot even
Body Mass Index: 22.1
Body Fat: 12.6%

According to the American Council on Exercise, I fall under “athlete” body fat levels. Neato.

Continuing with the vanity, here’s a pic taken just yesterday.

Did you notice there’s more hair on your chin than on your scalp? :D

I just caught up with your blog. Great job on the hill run!! I’m up to 5 miles at tempo pace (hoping to get to 12 before the marathon). Was it the little machine that sends an electric current through your body?

Looking good!

Looking good! You’d look a little better with a smile on your face, though! Congratulations on becoming medically certifiable as an athlete!
