sunday run log

passion for running category: running on Monday, July 16 2007

I was alone with the kids until Sunday afternoon (wifey was away) so I had no choice but to run late in the afternoon.

It did not go well. It was super hot and super humid.

Pace was slow, heart rate was way too low, I was sluggish, and finally ended the run after 40 minutes (60 minutes were on the schedule) thinking, the way I was feeling, more harm than good was being done.

This is the first run I’ve cut short in quite some time. The positive is that I did not skip it entirely and have, for the most part, been toughing out this heat spell very well.

I’m having a rough time with the heat as well. I keep thinking I’ll run in the early mornings to combat it, but it rarely happens.

Feel for you! I had the same dilemna this weekend and also toughed out running/biking in the hottest time of the day. Builds character, no?
