Nice bennies.

One thing I’ve noticed is that smaller marathons tend to provide better perks in terms of unique medals and tech shirts since they don’t have to mass produce on such a grand scale. Red Deer appears to follow that trend.

Yeah, plus I also think that Red Deer tries hard because it’s got a reputation (rightly deserved!) for being a tough course. Common things I heard prior to going were, “it’s not a PR course” and “not many marathoners return to Red Deer”.

You gotta do something special when those kinds of things are being said about your course - even if it is exceptionally beautiful. :)

well done Mark. Shame about missing your time but sounds like it was a tough course so you probably went all right considering.
