I second Thomas' sentiments... Well done.

Swearing during a run? Done that. It's very cathartic, isn't it? Too often we box ourselves up in our silent solitary world on the pavement just listening. It's good to actually generate some noise ourselves!

Funny you should mention speeding up while getting tired (ore maybe not so funny, if it's common knowledge and I'm just discovering it). Rose had the same observation recently.

Resisting the siren song of the house is admirable, grasshoppah. Way to get through it and win!

"I'm a mile eating monster" had me rolling on the floor. I'll have to add that one to my own inner dialogue which includes the phrase, "Each step you take, you are one step closer to eating something covered in sour cream."

I find that if I go for too long at too slow a pace, my legs feel very tired and increasing the pace really helps. Of course, I've been training them to run faster as they tire, so that might be it.

This is the start of the long run adaptation that we want. You'll begin to experience new limitations that don't show up when the long runs are under 20 miles. A few weeks of 20 mile (+) long runs and you'll be amazed at how easy it is to finish them.

Then of course, we'll introduce new ways to cause you discomfort.

It's heart-warming to know that when you feel at your worst you start thinking of me. I don't accelerate by that much btw, just enough to get the legs moving in a different way.

But I'm glad that you managed to hang on for the rest of the run. Well done.
