A Passion for Running

Welcome to the home of Mark aka The Running Blogfather – a 40 year-old dad, husband and marathon runner who's beaten injury and is on the comeback trail!

bit of a meltdown today

passion for running category: running on Wednesday, February 7 2007

I woke up really tired this morning. My calves were a lot better than yesterday but I was tired – almost anemic kinda tired. And that pain under my big toe was lurking under the surface.

With those two things weighing on my mind, I gave myself two windows to run – the first, during my lunch break and, if I wasn’t feeling ok, the second window would be immediately after work.

Not much improved. In fact, I felt more tired as the day progressed.

I pulled the plug. I hated doing that but it was obvious my body was screaming for a pure rest day after the last 10 days or so of sustained increased intensity.
