A Passion for Running

Welcome to the home of Mark aka The Running Blogfather – a 40 year-old dad, husband and marathon runner who's beaten injury and is on the comeback trail!

Reading back on recent entries, I’m sure I sound like quite the braggart to some people. If that’s you, here’s a bit of an explanation…

My recent success has literally filled me with a joy of running I’ve not known in quite some time. If you know my history, you know I was injured and it took me a LONG time to get to where I am today.

So, I guess I’m saying I think I’ve paid my dues and am allowed to be happy and, yes, even joyful.

That said, here are the details from today’s rockin’ run:

Time: 2:30
Distance: 15.77 miles
Pace: 9:30 min/mile
Average Heart Rate: 154

Today’s effort was run at the the pace I was previously running my “easy” 90 minute runs at and it was done in a lot of poor footing.

Am I full of joy? You betcha!

Joy does not require an apology. In fact, I’m not sure it even accepts one! Rock on.

Found you through Marathon Bound (http://poetrunner.blogspot.com/index.html)

Good use of Google Docs! I love the ability to keep spreadsheets online also.

I’m just starting running again after over a decade off. Been cycling heavily in the last 4–soundly conquered that sport and now am looking for my first marathon.

My paces are right were your last run was. It’s amazing how 9:30 can seem so fast or slow depending on your perspective. I’ll be interested to see your progress.
