A Passion for Running

Welcome to the home of Mark aka The Running Blogfather – a 40 year-old dad, husband and marathon runner who's beaten injury and is on the comeback trail!

passion for running category: running on Thursday, February 1 2007

I ran today’s easy run at the same faster pace as on Tuesday. I am pleased with the results because I was able to hit almost exactly the same pace and average heart rate and that’s with an overall increase in intensity (pace and distance) this week.

Distance: 10.12
Time: 91 minutes
Pace: 8:59 min/mile
Average Heart Rate: 159

And the body is holding together quite well. My mood’s good, body feels good, no aches or pains. I’m just a bit tired but certainly no worse than when I was starting out on the program running through all that snow.

So the plan is to keep probing to see if I can continue at this intensity or step back a bit.

Hey Mark, I’ve been reading you blog for alost a half of the year and want to say it’s really motivational (for both sides Author / Readers); not sure if I can ask you, just wonder how was you January 2007 milage as long as it’s time to make a summary (for some of us). Hope I can compare results.
P.S. (I’m a newbie in blog culture, do not even assure if such questions are appropriate) Shall you provide this info – I’ll edit my post “180 miles. I did it”
