24 hours can make a world of difference
Yeah, yesterday’s run sucked. I felt great before the run but sluggish during the run.
Today was a complete reversal. I was sluggish all morning hanging around the house and full of pep on the run.
Distance: 6.34 miles
Pace: 9 minutes 28 seconds per mile
Heart Rate: A terrifically low 152 avg
Keep on truckin’.
Coach Andrew: Yesterday’s run was about a 8:10 min/mile pace. I’m not able to get an exact google map reading on the distance.

Wondering how it’s not possible to get an exact Google map reading? Does that mean you’re running off-road, and so the route is obscured by trees? Just curious, as I have only run into that problem when kayaking–the part of the river I was on did not show on the generic map and was obscured by trees on the sattelite image. Otherwise, if you’re on a road, even a dirt road, getting the distance should not be a problem. So that makes me curious what tool you’re using to measure the distance…?
Also, a comment about these two days…one sluggish, the next not. How does that apply to Race Day? Wondering if it’s possible to “schedule” the Race Day to be the good day, rather than the sluggish day. I guess we try to do that with the rest days we take as Race Day approaches. But, I’m wondering if there might not be more to it than just rest days. And how do we take those additional factors into account, to give us the best chance of Race Day being an UP day rather than a DOWN day?
