I have to admit, I’ve never thought of us so strongly in these terms.

exhaustion, invigoration, gratitude and belonging

The happiness I’m feeling right now is pretty overwhelming. As you may, or may not know, Aaron and I, and a whack of truly tremendous people have re-launched Complete Running as the Complete Running Network.

I’m like a proud daddy. Proud for what we’ve managed to pull together, but even more proud of the team we did it with.

The hours I’ve put into this baby this past month or so have been staggering and just yesterday, I felt (for the tenth time) that I was at the point of breaking down from exhaustion. But the relaunch is exciting and it’s rejuvenated me. I am so stoked about this!

And I’m so grateful to all of you who’ve made this possible. Aaron, Chris, Jeanne, the amazing writing team. All of you.

I belong to something really special. Actually, I belong to two special things; The Running Blog Family, and now, the Complete Running Network Team.

Just try and wipe the smile from my face. I dare ya.

the secret i’ve been working on

I’m pretty stoked! Head on over to our home page for a little teaser. :)

describing the sensation of ‘lightness’

passion for running category: form, pose running method, running on Thursday, August 10 2006

I often get questioned on what it feels like to run using the Pose Method. Here’s the simple answer that just moments ago occurred to me:

Do you know the feeling of lightly touching on stairs as you go down them? There is that fine line between going too slow — when your feet begin landing more heavy and flat-footed — and going that speed where they just tightly touch the stairs.

That’s what Pose Method runners try for — that kind of quickness and lightness.

It’s all about quick cadence (turnover) and lifting the foot up almost before it touches the ground. And that kind of lightness can only be accomplished on the balls of one’s feet.

Does that make sense to you?

Oh! Remember I introducted you to Megin? Well, she’s now run her first 5k. Go congratulate her!
