While he may have been a bit harsh, I think he's right, many runners have no clue about the running elite, people that they should/could look up to and aspire to be like. Of course we can't all make running our job but isn't it nice to dream about running a really fast marathon? To perhaps beat a Kenyan?

It is interesting that as runners we want to hear more about some guy running 50 marathons in 50 days at what I would consider a pretty relaxed pace (especially for a man) than about a new world record. It is too bad that the latter isn't bigger news.

I can appreciate wanting to go long and wanting to go fast. To each their own!

Sorry for the strong "opinion" but "that" reminds me too much of so many other forums and all that come with them including "trolls". Along with the right to express our opinion comes the responsibility to not speak it in a manner that may cause harm. Way too controversial for my liking. Run Good!

Oh, I plan to. I started writing a comment, realized it was too long so I went to my site to write an article, realized it was too long and needed to be a series, and then my lunch break was over and I had to get back to work.

It's a great piece of link bait!
