You know, I've been trying this -- but find it makes me go faster than I want. What am I doing wrong, do you think?

Like Karen, I too play with stride. It also depends on terrain and incline. Plus I like to run with music as I use it as a pacing tool, and my stride then varies with the beats per minute of the tune :).

I only run like that in my dreams. It's a start; now maybe I should try it in real life, eh?

To contrast completely with Elizabeth, stride is something that is a constant variable for me. Something I'm always playing with, tweaking, changing for the terrain, the next distance goal, whatever. Honing my stride keeps my legs and feet from hurting me.

I can't imagine trying to change a running stride I have been doing for so many years, but I guess if you never try something new you'll never know if you couldn't be better.
