Go read this and see if you can knock some wind out of Adeel’s sails.
I’m a shoe hog! That’s right, a shoe hog! I just bought another pair of Puma H-Streets – this time in this lovely color combo.

My excuse is that these puppies are discontinued and I have to scoop them up before they’re all gone. It’s a good reason right? Right?! Oh, and have I mentioned they only cost thirty bucks?
If you’re counting, I now have three pairs of these shoes. Here is a link to the other two.
All five of you regular readers have probably been wondering that. Don’t worry, A Passion for Running isn’t goin’ anywhere.
For some time I’ve wanted to do more than I’ve been doing here. I’ve wanted to try my hand at being more informative and more opinionated (if that’s possible!) but in a more structured way. CRN is going to provide that opportunity in spades.
The focus at CRN will not ruin this blog. In fact, I’m really excited about A Passion for Running because there will be a clear separation between the things I’ve been seeking, and some things I’ve wanted to do/do more of here. And what are those things? hmmm …
1. Getting back to a clear focus on my running.
2. Less peddling of … stuff. If you read this blog, you know what the ’stuff’ has been. That’s not to say I no longer believe in the stuff, it’s just that there will be better places to peddle it. ![]()
3. A place to talk about non-running stuff. I’m going to talk more freely about the things in life besides running that interest me. Don’t ask me why I haven’t felt fully at ease doing that here (I don’t know the answer), but now I will.
I’m excited!

Go to CRN on Monday, August 27th to see my 1st ‘heavy’ article which will be called, Do You Need to be Taught How to Run?
I have to admit, I’ve never thought of us so strongly in these terms.
The happiness I’m feeling right now is pretty overwhelming. As you may, or may not know, Aaron and I, and a whack of truly tremendous people have re-launched Complete Running as the Complete Running Network.
I’m like a proud daddy. Proud for what we’ve managed to pull together, but even more proud of the team we did it with.
The hours I’ve put into this baby this past month or so have been staggering and just yesterday, I felt (for the tenth time) that I was at the point of breaking down from exhaustion. But the relaunch is exciting and it’s rejuvenated me. I am so stoked about this!
And I’m so grateful to all of you who’ve made this possible. Aaron, Chris, Jeanne, the amazing writing team. All of you.
I belong to something really special. Actually, I belong to two special things; The Running Blog Family, and now, the Complete Running Network Team.
Just try and wipe the smile from my face. I dare ya.
I’m pretty stoked! Head on over to our home page for a little teaser.
I often get questioned on what it feels like to run using the Pose Method. Here’s the simple answer that just moments ago occurred to me:
Do you know the feeling of lightly touching on stairs as you go down them? There is that fine line between going too slow — when your feet begin landing more heavy and flat-footed — and going that speed where they just tightly touch the stairs.
That’s what Pose Method runners try for — that kind of quickness and lightness.
It’s all about quick cadence (turnover) and lifting the foot up almost before it touches the ground. And that kind of lightness can only be accomplished on the balls of one’s feet.
Does that make sense to you?

Oh! Remember I introducted you to Megin? Well, she’s now run her first 5k. Go congratulate her!
I have been so busy with…stuff. (sorry, can’t share details yet)
But, I have been running. And I got both pairs of puma h streets in the mail last week. Those shoes are so sharp it’s impossible not to run faster. I’m like the Flash! Woohoo! How’s life treating ya?
