The Vibram Five Fingers shoe is creating quite a stir in barefoot and Pose Method circles and I must say these look promising. I may just have to order a pair.

These may be as close to barefooting without actually being barefoot as you can get. Here’s what’s being said:

On the Posetech Forum

By Barefoot Ted (the guy does mountains barefoot)

Barefoot Rick has tons of barefoot experience

Finally, a few thoughts from - Ken Bob Saxton’s forum (the guru of barefoot running).

Take that Nike.

Jon’s gay friends “the nike brothers” might totally dig them.
I myself would want to accesorize them…say add a toe ring or perhaps a tattoo

Wild! I was particularly interested in Barefoot Ted’s description of how much easier it was to run on muddy trails in them than in trail shoes. I would have to really build up my ankle and foot strength if I wore these on the trails. I like the support I get from wide-soled trail shoes, but it would be nice not to collect so much mud.

I have not tried barefoot running, mostly because I believe I have really tender feet, but with THESE, I might be braver. Thanks for the info.

I wonder how easy it would be to put some neon lights underneath. I might then be the coolest person in Southend-on-Sea, the UK’s Chav-haven.

I could run along the sea front and I wouldn’t even need to slow down for the speed cameras or the speed bumps. If I buy an iPod I would have the banging tunes too!

All the ladies would flock to me and my glowing feet in those!
