end of a good week
Today was difficult but satisfying because it was the end of my second week of consistent running. I was a bit tired.
Just in case you wondered, I was never afraid of losing the running habit – I love it too much for that to happen. Really, I was just anxious about getting back at it and feeling grossly out of shape. Mentally, I’m in a much better place than I was a couple weeks ago.
Physically, I’m a bit tired. This fourth run for the week was only 45 minutes long but, because I’m out of shape, my calves were sore so I gave myself permission to take walk breaks whenever my form slipped. It helped.
And it was a lovely day to run – overcast and a bit misty after the morning’s rain. The earth surrounded me with a lovely photographer’s light.
It was a good day to run and smile and smile and run.

Good job, Mark! You’ve got such a great outlook on things. So positive. I need to take page out of your book.
