Yup, I’m here!

Sorry about the lack of interaction lately. Lori and I are busy getting ready for our living/dining room/kitchen renovation. We’re very excited about it. We’ve chosen our hardwood floor and kitchen cabinets and are close to beginning the demolition.

In running news, I have indeed been running. On average every other day. But man o’ man am I ever slow. The challenge has been in letting other runners pass me – runners that would not have been passing me a few months ago.

That said, I have done well in terms of checking Mr. Ego at the door and running at a very slow cardio base building pace. My goals for the next few weeks are simply to run with good form and continue building that base. Hat tip: Lydiard

Yikes! Have fun with the renovations. The finished product is worth the while but the getting there can be tough! :)

Glad the running is going well. And, yes, enjoy all the house stuff. It’s going to be great!

Checking that ego at the door can indeed be tough. It has been a slow battle back to my before injury speed, but I try as well to stay contained, to a degree at least. I hope the renovations go well.

I really enjoyed looking at your website. I have just started training for my first marathon. I was curious as to what the ‘pose running method’ entails… perhaps you could give me a few pointers? you follow my progress or contact me through my blog: Marathon Blog
best wishes, Will

Outstanding that you’re running every other day. That’s great! You’re home renovations will keep you from overdoing the running, if personal experience is any guide. In both cases, you should be happy with the results.

Lydiard it is! Talk about (insert whatever buzzword you want here) – but long, slow, aerobic base is all the rage this winter!

As are new kitchens – worth every day of eating on the coffee table…
