why do you blog about running?

Paul asked the age-old question here.

Besides what I left at Paul’s place, I’d like to share a quote I read about a year ago that seems applicable to this discussion:

We live by encouragement and die without it — slowly, sadly, angrily – Celeste Holm

In the hopes that someday, some big executive at some giant chocolate conglomerate will see my blog and contact me with an offer for an excutive position with tons of perks and enough money to choke an elephant.

:)

Well, that and it gives me a place to rant and vent and whine and talk about my running and other things, and get comments and feedback from people from all over the world.

In the hopes that someday, when some big executive at some giant chocolate conglomerate sees Jon’s blog and contacts him with an offer for an executive position with tons of perks and enough money to choke an elephant …. that he’ll remember the folks on his sidebar. :) Or someone will contact me to write the screenplay of Jon’s success. Or … something.. :)

Truly, I blog as a writing outlet and an inspiration-gatherer, and to make a connection to other runners. That, and it’s highly addictive stuff.

I blog about running because I know I need the advice that I’ve managed to get from the other great people that blog about running. Plus, it keeps me accountable on my workouts. If I have nothing to post, I know I’ve been slack.
