but I ain’t got wings…

Yesterday, I mentioned finding a way to relax a bit more in the ankles during my run with Aaron. Well, today I was able to run with that idea (horrible pun, I know). I really let the ol’ ankles relax and it made a big difference:

1) I had much more relaxed calf muscles, and
2) I was really able to fly!

Dr. Romanov often mentions that one of the biggest obstacles to running well is mental – that we have to let go of the fear of falling. We have to fall while running and learn to relax while doing it. Today was a red letter day for me because I truly felt myself falling, and was able to be relaxed while doing it. It made the biggest difference in both my form and ability to run fast!

It was awesome!

The only thing I differ on with Dr. R. is in thinking of it as ‘falling’ because for me it is much more fun to think of it as flying!

I appreciate any reference to Tom Petty. And thanks for putting up the race calendar. That was brilliant as they say at Guiness.
