I answered that the race itself is the most stressful, but generally that’s not true. It’s the last 2 miles before I sprint to the finish that is most stressful because I’m trying to convince my body that I can’t sprint the whole last two miles!! Argh!

ugh…getting there on time. i’m super anal about being places on time and races are the worst for me. there are so many unknowns when it comes to traffic at a big race, it just drives me bonkers.

my first marathon had me sitting in traffic for HOURS trying to get to the start, and in the end i had to jump out of the car, run up a huge hill and got to the start 10 minutes after the gun had fired.

I put the hour before, but that’s not really the case for me. It’s not even the taper.

For me, the most stressful time is the weeks/month before the race once you’ve finally worked up to race distance, and the worry about injuries, etc, sidelining you from the main event.

crossing the finish line is still the most stressful part for me.

Waiting in line for snacks afterwards.

I have to say that while I thoroughly enjoyed the New Haven RBF group, they took an incredibly long time to get to the food. We were all in, breathing close to normal again, but they were not.moving.to.the.food. I need to get to the food.
