Aaron and I set a new post-pose method distance record of 1 hour 20 minutes today. One year ago, I could drop a 2 hour run without even thinking about it. Today was a smidge ;) harder. Actually, it was a pretty decent run. I’m estimating we hovered between an 8:30 and 8:45 minute-mile, the whole while maintaining a cadence of 180 (I’ve gotten pretty good at counting steps while running).

But I’m really paying for it! My inner thighs are so raw. Ouch. Alot of rubbing was obviously going on inside those Nike tights of mine. Sheesh! I never used to get chafing down there until I’d been running for at least 2 hours. Looks like it’s time to break out the best stuff in the world for chafing:

Besides the chafing, my hamstrings are also really sore. The good news is that hamstring soreness is the kind of pain I want since it tells me the work is being done there as opposed to in the quads and hipflexors – where the work was being done prior to learning the pose method of running. Obviously, my body is not done with the transition to the new running form.

Plain ole stick deodorant also works for preventing chaffing for those troublesome areas. Cheaper too!

A cadence of 180 for over an hour is quite impressive to me.

Yay for Body Glide.

I wish I could buy stock in the company that makes that stuff.
