The responses on these polls have been interesting. For instance, who’da thunk it that the 1/2 marathon distance was the most popular? Thanks for taking part in these!

Ha! Diddly squat! Unless you count the 10 pounds I lost when I was pushing it really hard and trying to lose, I haven’t lost any. In fact, I am very convinced that running makes you gain wait. Damn.

during a period where i wasn’t doing much to keep fit, i topped out at 165lbs. i’m back down to 140lbs now and have been holding steady there for the past eight months.

Both times I’ve done a “formal” race that had half, 10k, and 5k distances, the half was the most crowded! The 10k was the least crowded, and the 5k (thanks no doubt to walkers and casual participants) was the second largest after the half. I was really surprised too! But I loved the half distance ~ long enough to really make it feel like you’re *doing* something, without being so long that you lose a toe nail. Perfect!

If you add up what I’ve lost and don’t count the times I’ve regained it :-( …… it would look a lot better and so would I…lol.

None. I gained 5 lbs in the first 6 weeks of running, and have gained more in the last 5 years since then. It does seem to be firmer weight, in different places, and I can sure carry it faster and farther than I used to :)

Since I started RUNNING, 25kg/55lbs, 5kg/11lbs short of my goal. Since I started RACING, I’ve gained 1kg/2lbs! I’ve been trying for over a year to lose the rest of the weight! At least training for races keeps my weight stable (albeit too high).

OK, Since you had to mention me by name, I’m down anywhere between 15 to 20lbs if I don’t stop running and don’t pig out during the holidays, not the thinnest I’ve ever been but getting there!
