a smile goes a long way

I just came from Chris’ house where he asked if his readers have tricks/tips for getting through low points. I found the question to be timely since I definitely am at a low point with the ankle and now my groin injury.

If you read my last post, you have a clue as to what one of my coping mechanisms is – having a sense of humour.

Yup. A smile, a joke, and a laugh go a long way toward getting me through my low points. How about you?

In that vein, I would like to highlight and thank BD for some humour he left in response to my last groin related post – a post where there was mention of Dr. Seuss. Here are BD’s words:

I don?t like groin pain, I don?t like it at all,
I don?t like it when I?m standing next to a wall.
I don?t like it when I?m running outside,
or lifting my child, or going for a ride.
I don?t like it when swimming, not in a whirlpool,
or working outside, it?s decidely uncool.
It is a funny story that I have to tell,
but the entire Blog Family is wishing me well.

(ain’t he talented?)

Thanks BD. You put a big smile on my face, validated my sense of humour and made my day!

P.S. You were right BD, yesterday was Dr. Seuss’ birthday! Yet another bit of synchronicity at work!

Coping? Mine is the realization that there ultimately isn’t any other choice. Good old fashioned resignation.

That and biting sarcasm.

Wow. Thanks! I’m actually speechless for once.
