passion for running category: run log, running on Tuesday, March 1 2005

It was sunny, warm and I had a smile on my face for the entirety of today’s 8km run. Add to that the fact that I had company in the form of my co-worker friend Nick and it was win-win all the way.

I’m still focussing on stepping lightly and let me tell you, that is a big thing for me because I’m a bit of a clomper – all six feet of me!

Did ya get out there today?

Not today. Too busy clearing snow. But I ran 7 miles yesterday in a snowstorm. Heh.

Planned an outdoor run but felt some raindrops as I got to the gym so instead I ran 2 miles on the inside track. Good run though.

So gorgeous out today … I have total spring fever now! I did get out for about a half an hour with baby … errrr…little girl and stroller. I’m not sure on exact times, but I think she sang “Itsy Bitsy Spider” about 56 times through. (Why does that guy keep going up the water spout … doesn’t he learn??)

Glad you got out to enjoy the day!

I ran but not out. Too much snow and wind and cold. I’ve had my fill till next weekend. I got 4 miles in at the gym.

Glad you are moving ahead with the running, Mark. Are there official training plans for swimming?

Not to completely ignore your post (I am on a shutdown running sabbatical for a week. It’s guilt free.) but, Mark, why do you favor your left leg so much in the blog pictures? Friends, do you ever wish he had one leaning the other way – just for balance?

I think what you are seeing is really just coincidence David. In the first, I am just standing whereas I am walking and just happen to be taking a step on the same leg! I can assure you that I do not limp or drastically favour one leg over the other. :)

Just a rest day for me. I did walk about a half hour or so. Tomorrow I run in the AM with my young mom friend so I had to save some energy. Glad you had a good one.

Yup, 12K today -> -2?C, windy, 4-6 inches of snow, partly plowed trails, no sun, wind chill about -12?C. Cold, but the air was fresh, the trail empty, great run!

It kind of snowed here and was cold  NOT a good day for running here. I’m glad to hear that it was nice at least in your neck of the woods.
