Make sure you take a look at the post previous to this one. I’d love to hear your thoughts…

It SNOWED a LOT on Saturday! We usually get till around Halloween but winter arrived in full force this weekend. These pics are of our front yard and back deck. Good grief Charlie Brown – it’s still snowing! The good news? Christopher had an absolute blast throwing snowballs – a first for him!

Wow, that’s incredible! Today it is supposed to reach 90 Fahrenheit here! How do you feel about running in snow? I raced in snow once and loved it, but I’m sure I wouldn’t love it every day!

Good luck and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Marshall: Yeah, it really is. Usually, we get a gradual introduction into winter in early November but this was like WAMMO!

Running in winter is actually not bad. We often run beyond -30C/-22F + with snow on the ground. Running on FRESH snow can be quite nice because it is soft blanket. Snow that is packed down gets slippery and icy so it is harder. After a while, you can get aches and pains that you don’t get running during the other seasons. You actually begin to feel like you get webbed feet because you are constantly almost gripping the ground with your feet.

I can take it but it can be tough to get through a LONG winter which, this one looks like it might be.

Jon: Watchoo talkin’ ’bout Willis? A little snow ain’t gonna scare ME! ;)

We hit 94 this week – that’s 34.5 C, for folks who measure temperature in a more civilized way. Not much chance of snowballs.

Beautiful! I’m a big fan of winter. Just working out how to trail run in my area in the winter. I’m going to have to hook up with others and see what they’re doing for outfitting.
