…you have too much time to think.

Time to think about whether you are ready. Time to think about whether tapering is causing you to lose fitness/endurance. Time to think about whether that run you missed two weeks ago will cost you. Time to think about whether you did the right training. Time to think about if you did too much training. Time to think about whether that little pain on x-spot of your leg is an injury waiting to happen. Time to think about whether you didn’t do enough of some kind of training. Time to think about the potential for getting sick before the marathon. Time to think about the weather. Time to think about missing your kids while you’re away. Time to think about the course. Time to think about failing. Time to think about succeeding. Time to think about not running with your buddies for the first time in a marathon. Time to think about the story you want to be able tell everyone when it’s all over. Time to think about after and onward. Time to think about how much those last few miles are gonna hurt. Time to think about how great getting to the finish line will feel. Time to think about the crazy reasons you put yourself through these things…

…and time to think about how NUTS tapering is making you!

I can’t keep up with all your posts, there are so many. I hope you get back to your running asap, so you don’t have so much free time on your hands—to be posting! ;)

Mark, I think you have to lighten up. Granted I’m a natural at taking it easy, but seriously, this stressing will weaken you in the long run. You have prepared. I’ve been reading your blog since May and you’ve done more to prepare then anyone I know. You’re gonna be ready. I mean look at me. I can go a week without running and look how I bounce back. You’re gonna be on fire Sunday with all your pent up energy because your body will be fully recharged. Remember, you’re not just the man, you’re the Blogfather!

It sounds like you feel like you’re supposed to feel. Just keep bottling all that energy up this week and your race will be a breeze!
