a pound of flesh = 5 minutes faster?
That’s what I hope anyway…
My massage therapist put my legs through absolute hell yesterday. In my last session, I instructed Jennifer that my calves and shins were the problem. Since then, I realized my hamstrings were also very tight.
It turns out they were worse than my calves had been. Jennifer worked my legs over for an hour yesterday spending half that time on my hamstrings. She said I had a knotty area in each hamstring roughly the size of a golf ball. Let me tell ya, I believed her…
OUCH!
I really think these massage sessions will turn out to be one of the best things I’ve ever done before a marathon.
Hopefully, it’ll translate into a better run on October 10th!

I read in Runner’s World that Paula Radcliffe gets lots of massages
before races. That didn’t help her in the Olympics, but normally she’s
incredible, so I would imagine it would help you, too. Good luck
in the marathon and thanks for the recent comments on my blog.
I love the RBF race calendar. Keep up the great work building a
community. Take care.
