More precisely, here are some pictures of a bit of the city I call home! They were taken along routes I often run during my lunch breaks and after work.

I hope you enjoy this glimpse into Edmonton. :)

Wow. I’ve been trying to decide what to do with the rest of my life and where to live. Your pictures make your city mighty tempting. What a beautiful place!!!

That’s really cool. For a long time now I’ve had this urge to carry a camera along on one of my long runs and snap some pictures, but so far I just haven’t done it. Your pictures may inspire me to do it, though. I always feel so lucky that I get to be out there enjoying my runs, and pictures may be a good way to share some of that.

Thanks you guys. It really is lovely and is even better in real life! Edmonton actually has more miles of trails than any other North American City!

Wow! You don’t run up those stairs do you? I’m afraid that would certainly qualify you for “Running Madman” status. There certainly are some beautiful spots in Canada.

Those stairs beat out any hill on my routes. And regardless of the stairs, I am very jealous of the beautiful trails! Lucky guy!

Jon: Yes, I do run up those stairs so, a Madman I am!

Dianna: Lucky and I know it.

Oliver: Of course, you are invited. You and anyone else that wishes to, PLEASE come up for a run!

Lafe: Yes. I agree. More people should do this hey?

Thanks for the lovely pictures. You live in a beautiful area – no smog?

Not really. The only time we would get any kind of smog problem might be once or twice a year when it gets very very cold in the winter (like -40C). What happens is a sort of warm dome will form over the city and trap the pollution. Even then, I don’t think it is anything near what some very large cities have. By and large we are very clean and very green!

No smog but I admit that the flip side is that our river is not terribly clean. I don’t know many people that would swim in it. Upstream from Edmonton is much better so that does not speak well of how our city treats its river.

Mark, the view of the river boat is precisely what I see when I look out my classroom window every day! I’m on the other side of the telus building right on the bluff of the river valley. I’ve gone running after class a couple times now and it is absolutely gorgeous down there. I used to run downtown Calgary when I first started and that was lovely too. You have a wonderful eye and frame your pictures beautifully. :-)
