happy
A good, tough run today. It was the second last running of my Wednesday four-hill route before the marathon. It was the second week also that “sister” Corinne was M.I.A. However, I was able to bring in another recruit to take her spot. My friend Jean (3rd from left) joined me today. Jean is as natural a runner as you’ll ever see. She just hops along with the highest knees, seemingly exerting no effort while she runs. I bet if she put her mind to it, she could be a 3-hour marathon runner. However, that’ll probably never happen since she hates running marathons and prefers instead to do shorter distances and other “adventure” type runs.
The goal for today was to keep as close as possible to marathon pace (around 5 minutes/km) as I could. Not an easy task with the length and steepness of the hills on this run.
We had a great time out there and it was just lovely. The colors of fall are really vibrant right now and the temperature was PERFECT for running.
We cruised through the 9.2 kilometers in 48:30. I believe that’s a record. Overall pace was 5:14 min/km or 8:22 min/mile.
Not bad!
