Thanks to Pam, Jon, Deene and Lafe for the name suggestions for my new coach.

I regret to inform you that I’ve choosen my own name. Your input was not wasted, however.

Deene, you came up with the first ugly sounding name – - “Attilla”. Lafe, you sort of ran with Deene’s idea, came up with a few names of your own and then mentioned that the name should “bring to mind a formidable woman who will break you if you don?t keep it up”. For some reason, that phrase got me thinking of tough women with a thick, rough german accent (no offense to German women Oliver!) and, in a FLASH, the name “Gretchen” popped into my head.

Coach Gretchen! I better not piss her off. She is one bad-ass, kick-you-in-the-nads kinda coach.

I think my running will improve with Gretchen around. I may not have a choice. ;)

Mark, sorry I have to make you aware that Gretchen is not seen as a tough women here, it’s more like she’s tenderly, fragile, looking for protection… Hope this has no negative impact on your mental preparation ;-)
