ultimate cross-training?
Tom and I started the day with a plan to run 16 miles but before we headed out, we agreed to just play it by ear since it was so hot and humid.
We went nice and easy along the multi-use trail heading east from Kinsmen Sport Center – LOTS and LOTS of hills.
We both felt like garbage and it wasn’t long before we decided on turning around earlier than the 8 mile point. We ended up turning around at the 11km marker and turned it into a 22km/14 mile run.
The heat was exhausting.
I got home around 10:00 a.m. and reintroduced myself to the family. Shortly after, Lori and Cassandra went to the library and Christopher starting chanting “go? go? go? go?”. I finally got the hint and packed him into the bike carriage (he love’s it) and off we went to the playground down the street.
We returned shortly before noon and had some lunch. I put the boy down for his nap, said hi to Lori and headed out the door again – this time to help Aaron with some work. He was demolishing his in-laws-to-be basement in preparation for a reno. Tom was there too and the three of us ripped down a ceiling and some walls and then hauled it all up the stairs and outside one bag at a time. Musta hauled 50 bags out – what a workout but we had great fun BS’ing while we did the job.
At 4:30 I went home tired as hell and did some yardwork and it was STILL HOT!
What a day!

Sounds like a hell of a deal, actually. Training *and* productive work. Woot!
Um, you’re smart. How can I find syndication formats for those RBF people on typepad.com? I’m converting most of the blogspot feeds into RSS to fit into my nifty little reader, but have no such luck with typepad folks. Thoughts?
