great run today

Corinne and I ran our four hill route at lunch today and set a new course record – 50:57. SMOKIN’ fast for that distance and difficulty and best of all I felt GREAT the whole time. It wasn’t even near as difficult as it was a few weeks ago and I’m pretty sure we ran a sub 8 minute mile the whole way.

I really think the bike commuting is starting to pay dividends because I felt absolutely no fatigue this afternoon either.

It was beautiful out there too. About 15 degrees celcius (just right!) and a light rain accompanied us the whole way.

EXACTLY my kind of running weather!

Thanks for the comments on my blog. You’re right, our “relationship” could be more two-sided! I’ve been following all of your blogs about commuting by bike. I’d really like to do that but I think I live too far from my office. It’s about 13 miles and takes me 30-40 minutes by car. I’ve also considered biking to the train and taking the train; that is more feasible.

My office will be moving in a few months (closer to my house) and I’m also looking for a new job, so maybe the planets will align and I will be able to bike to work. How far do you bike?

Thanks for a great blog! Keep bringing the interesting posts.

You and your rain! You’re going to make ME try running in the rain with your enthusiasm about it.

Maybe I need to start biking to work. I need something to move me out of this funk.

PS – Susan, don’t listen to Mark. The guy runs in hail storms. You watch. He’ll want to move to Kansas to go run in Tonados with Dorothy and Toto next.

Just catching up on your posts…and I have to agree about running in the rain..it does have a very “cleansing” quality to it (especially when the temperature is just right!).

Sounds like your biking and running have learned to co-exist. Good stuff.

Yes temperature is KEY! And if the rain follows a few run of sunshine and heat I am all for it.
Sometimes I prefer winter running to cold rain running.
