Enjoyed your inspirational blog

Training for a 10K and injured my back overdoing it about a week ago -- put my back out for about 4-5 days and am just recovering -- still have pain (lower back), but moving is much easier and less painful....10K is in 1 week...doctor says it's up to me, but doesn't think I'll be ready and says it could make me worse - any recommendations? I know there will be other 10Ks and don't want permanent injury (also realizing, at age 38, that I'm not 20 anymore and need to hit the gym to do strength training/stretching more)

thanks for any advice

Hello Mark,

I don't know if this question belongs here but it was the only place I could find.

I'm part of the running blog family network. I was wondering how my feed could get added to the other feeds whenever I update my blog? There are hundreds of blogs but it seems like the same half dozen or so get updated each time they post.

thanks for setting this up. I never knew there were so many people writing about their running activities.

Great website! I was overweight too and running has saved me and got me back on track. I feel great and my confidence level has skyrocketed.
Currently training for a corporate cup run and current pace is 8.5 min/mile...Goal is 7.5. Any tips on increasing the pace in 2 months time?

Hi Mark,

I wondered whether you would be interested in either coming to/passing on info to others about my online launch party to celebrate the publication of my book: Running on Empty:Diary of a Marathon Mum. Two years ago I was a running virgin, till I got persuaded to run the London Marathon last year to celebrate my 40th year. It was a fabulous experience and as a mum of four my training was often very funny, so I decided to write a book about it to inspire other no hopers like me (I am probably the slowest runner on the planet!), and I hope to raise some more money for Tadworth Court Children's Trust, which is the fabulous charity I ran for.

The launch party takes place from the 8-15 June ,and for more info about it and the book go to: http://maniacmum.blogspot.com or my website at: www.marathonmum.com

I'm away on holiday from tomorrow for a week, but back on 3 June.

best wishes

Hey Mark, Im the guy that "ran" into you today down near Irene Parlby Park, and was inquiring about your shows. Great website you have here! I mapped out my run and it was just over 13k, but I couldnt save my route to send. I was wondering if you could get back to me and let me know how to save/send routes? Keep up the running and this great site!
