Shut Up and Run.

You’ll remember that my Boomer died earlier this year. Poor girl.

You’ll remember that my babies are you growing up. Leaving behind pining for an un-vasectomied husband.

Sooooo.

I am totally adopting a new dog from out local no kill shelter.

I haven’t met her yet (I’m doing it today) but my father in law did and says she GREAT!

I was perusing their site as I always do, with mild interest. I’ve looked a million times and I have NEVER felt that I HAD to have a dog until i saw this one. It’s our perfect dog. (and she’ll no doubt chase away the GODDAMNED RACCOON THAT KEEP TERRORIZING US!).

Her name is ….shadow…I know…uninspired.

What should I change it to?

Wait.

Here’s a look.

I heart her.

Here are our (my husband’s) reject dog names (mine)

Sasha
Jasper
Bay (rhymes with “stay” which is a big training command)
Tonka
Chloe
Annie (my neighbor’s lab)

Like you don’t know this…stick with a name that doesn’t get on your nerves when your kids scream it. Like Brandeeeeeeeee, screamed by my 6 year old 100x is kind of nerve damaging)

Good luck. She’s a cutie

Stinky?
Smokey?
Pooper?
Slurpy?
Get out of the garden dammit?
Get off the bed?
Don’t drink out of the toilet?
Don’t beg at the table?

It really doesn’t matter what you name the dog. You’ll give her other names anyway. The “real” name is for the dog is so the people feel comfortable about the dog having a good name. And the funny part is? The dog really couldn’t care less one way or the other.

jank Says:

I always wanted a dog named “dog”. Almost convinced the wife to name the first kid “Boy”.

Dawn - Pink Chick Says:

Actually I too like the name Shadow. But heh my dogs are Xena and LeBut. LeBut got his name from what they say on the french channel when a goal is scored in Hockey. I’ve also had cats named Charlie, Gandulf, and Pippin. Other dogs - Brandi and our dog as a kid was Spud cause he was the color of a potato. What can I say we were from the East coast…lol.

Moogie Says:

What a beauty. I can see why you fell in love with her. I also like the name Shadow. My daughter thought she looked like “Harry” but you can’t name a girl dog that.

ben Says:

Under.

You know, “One Nation, Under Dog.”

Wait, you haven’t seen the preview for that movie yet? My kids want to buy tickets today, and I don’t even know when it’s coming out.

How about Odie?

No?

Um… what they said ^, lots of good ideas.

Cute pup…
