Laptop issues….that involve it taking a nose dive off the arm of the couch (I KNOW I KNOW I shouldn’t put my laptop on the arm of the couch)

Illness…Noah’s…and now mine…and surely Brendan’s before the week it out.

My veggies garden that is beginning to sprout garlic and onions (and mint! which I didn’t plant but will come in handy after all that onion! and garlic!)

THE SUN!

Absolutely NOTHING to write about.

All of these things have kept me from blogging lately.

Soon though I will post a video of Noah’s french-ness and also some drunken photos of me and my two highschool friends a few weeks ago.

har!

THE GODDAMNED OWL THAT HAS TAKEN UP RESIDENCE OUTSIDE MY WINDOW THAT’S WHO!

For 3 nights we have woken up in the middle of the night to the soft whooting of some sort of owl near (very) our bedroom window.  It’s not an unpleasant sound..but it is loud enough to wake us up and strike up a mid-slumber chat about it.

Nothing that makes sense of course but does disturb me long enough to have to go pee.

Shortly after Noah comes in….because Noah comes in EVERY NIGHT, so regularly in fact we don’t even speak anymore. He just toddles in and Chris shoves over to the middle and Noah climbs in in front of him.  Sometimes we are all facing the same direction, me spooning chris (sort of) Chris spooning Noah, and Noah hanging on for dear life to whatever real estate he has managed to secure.

On the bright side, the owl seems to have scared off ALL OTHER BIRDS. Suddenly there aren’t the usual flocks of ravens and sparrows squawking outside our windows at 5:30am.

So there is that.

Mystery revealed: Poppy quarter led to U.S. spy warnings

Associated Press

WASHINGTON — An odd-looking Canadian coin with a bright red flower was the culprit behind the U.S. Defence Department’s false espionage warning earlier this year, The Associated Press has learned.

The odd-looking — but harmless — “poppy coin” was so unfamiliar to suspicious U.S. Army contractors travelling in Canada that they filed confidential espionage accounts about them. The worried contractors described the coins as “anomalous” and “filled with something man-made that looked like nano-technology,” according to once-classified U.S. government reports and e-mails obtained by the AP.

The silver-coloured 25-cent piece features the red image of a poppy — Canada’s flower of remembrance — inlaid over a maple leaf. The unorthodox quarter is identical to the coins pictured and described as suspicious in the contractors’ accounts.

The supposed nano-technology actually was a conventional protective coating the Royal Canadian Mint applied to prevent the poppy’s red colour from rubbing off. The mint produced nearly 30 million such quarters in 2004 commemorating Canada’s 117,000 war dead.

It’s kind gross but oddly compelling.
One pile contained bones. Where did these bones come from? Who knows. one time years ago she caught an ate one of the millions of sparrows that lived in the vines of our neighbours house.
More likely though, these bones were from a chicken carcass she stole from the garbage.

Another pile contained whole green peas that were no longer green but are now completely white. I can tell they were green peas cause they look EXACTLY the same as the day she ate them…well except they are white and nestled in poop.

And now I get the rake them up.
Gee thanks Boomie.
