Mommy’s Head Might Pop January 25 2007

“Mommy my school is so stupid. They SAY they have a lost and found but when I went to it to look for my sweaters and my neck warmer, there was nothing in there but pink mittens and fuzzy hats” – Brendan

“What sweaters?” – Mommy

“My red hoodie. The new one” – Brendan

“!” – mommy

“and my ROOTS one” – Mommy

“you should go to school now. Because i am seriously mad right now.” – mommy

“well, it was in GYM mommy, i was hot.” – Brendan

“I’m sure, but can’t you just put it back on before you LEAVE the gym? or at least PICK IT UP and stick it in your bag?” – Mommy
“Yeah. I think I’m gonna look again today” – Brendan

“Good plan” – mommy

this is Noah’s hug sculpture. he is the small stick slightly bent, I am the longer stick wrapped around the smaller one. He told me it was me giving him a hug.

it’s very sweet and i adore it…but…..my question is, how come he’s so skinny and i’m rather…..THiCK?

he is so grounded.

sliding take 2 January 22 2007

Sliding again yesterday.

No hot chocolate.

The kids were having so much fun, I decided to take a more active roll in the sliding extravaganza.

I went down the hill.

Nope, no pictures of that. Gee, sorry.

My descent was fast, cold and wildly out of control.

My first run was alright, I almost hit a storage shed but it was otherwise uneventful.

My 2nd run had me clip a jump in the middle of the hill,  I nicked it so it sent me off balance and I rolled the toboggan.

My 3rd and final run and I hit the jump dead on, which for some reason seemed like a good idea at the top of the hill. It really wasn’t. The sheer pain that shot up from my tail bone  was breath taking. I squealed once and continued down the hill. I went straight across the field and towards the park. When I finally came to rest, i was done, and besides Brendan wanted his toboggan back.

BUT! As I dusted off my fleece penguin jammie bottoms, Noah rushed over to me “Mom…mom…mommy? mommy? mom! mom! MOMMY?”

“yes Noah”

“You’re cool”

And he totally meant it.

Who knew!

We took the boys sliding today. We their new taboggans, they seem to need new ones every year.
We were bundled up and had some hot chocolate, the boys had a hoot.
i hate to say it out loud but, FINALLY some winter.

The Diet Pact

Linda and I aligned a while ago to loose weight.

And we did well. I lost 6 or 7 lbs before xmas and i think she lost even more.

I was back to running 3 times a week.

And then Feffie came to visit and i was completely derailed and i got sick, so i completely stopped running.

Feffie and I ate our weight (combined) in Lindt chocolate (no cheap task) and generally stuffed ourselves with chocolate and sugar. And i honestly wondered why i got so sick. Duh!

Anyway, recently my dear Linda has been nagging encouraging me to get back on the wagon, and i have, sort of. I still haven’t made if for a run. I have walked a couple of time but no balls out* sweat soaked run.

Anyway, Feffie and i were discussing our moo-ness last night and she’s decided to climb aboard the diet train.

She pledges to be thin enough to fit into her fabulous yoga jacket that she got for xmas.

So Linda? Would like to nag encourage Feffie too? Let me know and I will gladly give her email address.
