he is 11 today.
11
11 years ago today, i was being induced. chris was eating a salami sandwich, i was subsequently puking.
i was being strong.
12 hours after the start, 3 hours of which were slightly botched and horrendously painful, i was rolled into an operating room, higher than a kite, making ER and george clooney jokes.
15 minutes later an 18″, 9lbs 2oz boy was plopped into chris’s arms. ( i will try to scan a operation room photo later)
We were awe struck and i was unconcious.
11 years ago.
he is by far the strangest boy i know. he’s off the wall funny and boundlessly intelligent. his teachers are afraid to call on him in class,in case he stumps them once again.
he’s the pickiest eater i have ever met. he’s creative, but only when he can relate it to science or technology, no rainbows or sunsets from him. he creates autopsy guys or air craft carriers with his clay.
he’s spaz and can throw a fit better than anyone, but he’s also the sweetest son ever.

he’s at this in-between stage where he is fiercely independent and can do everything himself, but at the end of the day, we still tuck him in and kiss him good night.

today is his birthday and i am so proud of him!
