Brendan May 30 2006
Brendan was hoping to grow his hair long, like all the other boys in his class. Everytime I would mention a hair cut, I would get the same answer “No MOMMY! Long hair is cool!”
And so I would leave it.
Then blackfly season started and they LOVED his thick hot hair. He was chewed up! And suddenly short hair didn’t sound like such a bad idea. Yesterday I took him to the barber (that’s a post all in itself! GAH!)
And after talking the barber OUT of a crewcut he came out lookin pretty cute.
And after
LilZ is having the same thoughts just because the SWEAT is killing him. He loves his hair kinda long, but now that the heat is here to stay? He’s totally re-thinking it.
I think Im going to shave mine too!
He’s a cutie!
His mothers’ gift for arguing? He’s so cute. Around here the boys that play hockey are allowed to let their hair grow until after the season is over (hockey hair baffles me!@*&$^& why would they want sweat head under a helmet) then when the season ends they make a big deal out off cutting it off.
My dad was bald, so growing up he thought we should be just like him. So we always had brush cuts until we were old enough to be able to run away.
Aww, what a cutie!
You know that commercial out right now where the little kid is in the driveway and his dad comes home from work and goes inside, teh boy looks all sad and then teh dad opens up the garage door and he has his hockey gear? Well, I LOVE THAT KIDS HAIR! I totally want to grow my sons hair out now because that little boy looks so cute with his perfect hockey hair.
Canadian Tire…the only reason I have my eye is because I got a new pair fo glasses the day before (got my first set of contacts a year earlier and lived in them for the entire year, never wore my glasses bc they were out of date), so I just got my new pair the day before and went to CT for something. I went to go around a corner, there was a big fat guy eating a donut standing there, and I had to kind of shimmy around him to get around the corner, I turn my head and WACK into these tall wrought iron gardne post type things, the poke piece on it went all across my one lens, put a big scratch on my new glasses, and the other pokey thigns scratched my face up a bit. Blood was dripping from me (it wasn’t as bad as it looked), and the manager basically said, be more careful next time. The only reason I didn’t fight to get htem to replace my glasses was because they ahd a full 2 year warranty on them so I just brought them back to the optician. They place they had positioned those posts , anyone could have really hurt themselves.
At the time I was working in another retail store and told my manager, he used to manage a zellers in norhtern bc, and I guess that happened to a kid there, he fell on the garden post, got up, and his eye was still on it. EW.
OK, long winded comment. I really like your blog
My Mom used to give me a God-awful pixie cut every summer - I looked like a poodle. He is PRECIOUS and I LOVE short hair on boys!
my 11 yo (! still can’t believe it) used to get a #2 buzzcut all the way around, every three weeks. Now, he’s growing it out and it’s so thick. And he plays hockey (yes, in Texas — we do have ice!) and he is just a mess under the helmet. Ugh.
I much prefer Brendan’s cut. I’ll have to show his pic to my kid!
