My chance to make a mint! July 11 2005

Filed under: General — Jon in Michigan @ 9:03 am

I got an email today from someone who sounds like they are rolling in the dough. I think if I help them, I could really make a killing.

Hello,

I write you this letter in good faith and to the glory
of almighty who thus brought me out clean after all
the allegations leveled against me after the death of my
father(former Nigerian military head of states).
Since my father’s death and my detention,
my family has been loosing a lot of money
due to vindictive government
officials who are bent on dealing with my family.

My family and i are looking for a trustworthy foreign
partner who can assist us in receiving some amount of money for
investment purposes.
This money is presently in the possession of a
Vaulting company abroad. this money was of course was acquired
by my late father and is now kept secretly by the
family, the money is in cash.
As soon as i hear from you, i will give you all
necessary details as to how we intend carrying out the
whole transaction. Please, do not entertain any fears,
as all necessary modalities are in place, and i assure
you of all success and safety in this transaction.

If you are interested in assisting me please send me
Your consent and telephone number, you may also ignore this
Letter and respect my trust in you by not exposing this
transaction, should you not be interested.
I look forward to working with you.

Thank you

Alhaji Mohammed Abacha.

I hope they don’t think posting this on a blog is “exposing this transaction”.

Sounds legit to me!

When they’re hotter than you July 09 2005

Filed under: And Now A Word From Our Feffie — Feffie @ 1:40 pm

I’ve spent the last while working like a maniac, during the day at a bank and in the evenings and weekends at a bar. It was going wonderfully for me untill 2 nights ago.

See, the bar I work at is full of drunk yucky old men, who tip very when a little 25 year old chick is bringing them drinks all night.

Everyone I worked with was much older than me, all married with grandchildren infact. I was the only waitress, so I’d run around all night with my little tray and serve these old men drinks and make a ton tips! YAY!

2 nights a go I went into work and introduced to this Christina chick and was asked to teach her to balance a tray. It’s really not that difficult…but whatever.

I spent a suprising amount of time trying to teach this chick to use a tray…but to no avail! She can’t do it! I really don’t understand…but whatever what do I care. So now she walks around charging people prices for drinks that I think she must just choose at random…it seems at aside from lacking the ability to balance something on her hand, she also can’t do simple math…with her tray wedged between her hand and her stomche!

The problem came when she started making better tips than me! Infact my tips have decreased by 3/4 was I used to make! Why? Because she’s hotter than me. She’s tall with darkish skin…..grrrr. Apperently my 5 feet of extreme caucasion (I’m pretty sure that’s spelt wrong) doesn’t compare and it seems when you’re as hot as she is people tip you for spilling drinks on them and over charging them!

Stupid yucky boys!

So apperently when they call Yellowknife the artic they aren’t kidding around. HOLLY CRAP it’s cold up here! Since I’ve been here I’ve went out ONCE with just 1 shirt on! Usually it’s at least two and a jacket of some kind. I don’t remember it being this cold!

Anyway, I spoke with Pam recently she’s still in Paris at the moment. But will be making the big move tomorrow after they take her oldest boy to the air port. I can’t decide if she excited about the move or dreading it…maybe a little of both.

But she’s well and her boys are well…

Things are good up here, except for the frost bite of course. It seemed like it took me forever to find a job…and now I’ve found 3. I’m going to work as much as I can until the middle of next month and then I’ll be moving back on the warm part of the contrey!

The one where I have nothing to say July 04 2005

Filed under: General — Jon in Michigan @ 3:03 pm

I wanted to make another post here on Pam’s site while 1) she is driving on a highway somewhere, and 2) she isn’t around to delete it.

But I don’t have anything to say at all. I said everything on my blog already. I was going to talk about the 4th of July in the US, and visiting Greenfield Village, and reading my new book. But I already did that.

OK, here’s a pic I took of a dog when I was in Alaska many years ago.

He was sitting in this truck outside of the Bank of Kenai, in Kenai near the Kerr’s grocery store. Not sure if any of that is still there. There were alot of dogs in the backs of trucks up there. It was kinda funny.

Ok, so there’s my post about nothing. We all miss Pam, I know. If she ever gets her computer connected again, we might hear from her. Not sure why she can’t get to a damn internet cafe somewhere. How about a phone call? A postcard? Geez. She didn’t even call her own sister. She’s meanie.

Canada Day! July 01 2005

Filed under: General — Jon in Michigan @ 3:00 pm

Since Pam isn’t here to do it, and Feffie is too drunk, I thought I’d point out that today is Canada Day! Since I’m not Canadian, Canada Day is not so exciting around my house, but I get to pretend to be Canadian today while I’m on Pam’s site. I’m not sure how to do that, but I’m certain it involves cool Canadian food and Canadian party games.

Not sure what those are either.

But Happy Canada Day everyone! Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. Just south of you, all of us are having a celebration as well, so we’re kinda all celebrating together. Its a very cool North American thing. Now if Mexico would just get in line, we’d be all set.

Enjoy the weekend!
