Strong December 30 2004
This is how I felt during my run. I JUST got home (still wearing running clothes) from my first run in 9 days.
I thought today’s run would be awful and hard. But instead it was glorious! I was alone, the weather was 3 C, I wore only light runny pants, a winter weight top and a vest. I ran out in the country on some side roads. It was beautiful. I did about 13k. Though I thought it was a little ambitious, I told myself I could walk as much as I wanted to today since I would be so badly out of shape for such a run.
No walking needed. I floated today. I was a great great run. I sailed up the big hills at the end like I haven’t missed a run. I am sufficiently sweaty and hungry (turns out I forgot to eat today) and in dire need of a shower.
I am happily surprised to find myself still able to run and run happily!
So I’m off to shower and change into jammies (again).

Sounds like a dream run, Pam. You deserve it after a week of puking and the Christmas that wasn’t.
GO PAM! Sometimes a little rest is the best thing to refresh the legs and the soul.
And how did you ever run 13K on an empty stomach? Within the first K, I would have fallen over and died of starvation on the side of the road, too weak to even drag my body home.
I’m so glad you’re feeling better and had such a good run
How wonderfully wonderful!! So glad you are feeling better (as well as the family) and that you had such a beautiful run - well deserved!
