Shut Up and Run.

Sore December 31 2004

Filed under: General — pamalamadingdong @ 11:59 am

That’s what I am today. Clearly my 13k run after a NINE day hiatus was a little overly ambitious. Today my quads are a little more than a little sore (hey I rhymed!). Maybe not enough water maybe not enough stretching. Maybe to much running yesterday.
OH WELL!
I won’t run today. Let my legs forgive me a little bit.
My goals (I won’t call them resolutions) for 2005 may include but are not limited to the following:

  • 30k Around the Bay
  • Lose my last 12 lbs which may or maynot become 15lbs the closer I get to my goal
  • Incorporate strength training (someone has to help me with that plan)
    CROSS TRAIN
  • make Help my husband finish all his uncompleted jobs in our house
  • Whip Chris’s ass into shape.
  • That’s it for now. NO MARATHON this year…maybe next year. We’ll see.
Everyone have a SAFE and happy New Year’s eve!

Kisses to all at midnight (but not really cause I hate touching people).

    Strong December 30 2004

This is how I felt during my run. I JUST got home (still wearing running clothes) from my first run in 9 days.
I thought today’s run would be awful and hard. But instead it was glorious! I was alone, the weather was 3 C, I wore only light runny pants, a winter weight top and a vest. I ran out in the country on some side roads. It was beautiful. I did about 13k. Though I thought it was a little ambitious, I told myself I could walk as much as I wanted to today since I would be so badly out of shape for such a run.

No walking needed. I floated today. I was a great great run. I sailed up the big hills at the end like I haven’t missed a run. I am sufficiently sweaty and hungry (turns out I forgot to eat today) and in dire need of a shower.
I am happily surprised to find myself still able to run and run happily!

So I’m off to shower and change into jammies (again).

    FINALLY

    Troubling

Filed under: Parenting — pamalamadingdong @ 11:35 am

Ok, Noah? Is still puking. Once a day, well once a night. At about 11:30pm EVERYNIGHT. He’s fine all day, goofy as ever. He eats well (things that are easy on his tummy). No vomit. He goes to bed at 8pm everynight. And somewhere between 11 and 11:30pm we hear a squeal from upstairs and sure enough it’s him with his dinner all around him in his crib. I swear we’re going to wear out all his sheets and blankets with all the washing! So we’ll probably go to a walk in clinic today, since our Dr’s office is still closed for the holidays. I hate going to those clinics, cause if you go in with one illness and come out with 12.
    Ugh.
Anyone have a clue what this could be?
I figured it was Norwalk Virus from the begining since it is running wildly through our region right now, but he first vomitted last thursday night. This seems too long. And yes, he is well hydrated (everyone’s first concern).
    There you have it.
Oh did I forget to tell you that Dori PEED on MY duvet Christmas eve? That should’ve been my first clue that Christmas was taking a down swing.
    So I’m using Chris’s and he’s using…..a comforter….a rainbow comforter.
    HEE!
Yes, we have seperate duvets. That’s a long story that involves my late MIL and a trip to Germany….I will save that for another day.
I am running today if it kills me (it may), it’s 1 degree above zero here and I NEED to run run run. I can’t wait!
