Gotta thank my new running partner for asking me to train her! I have forgotten the joy in running with a good friend and she is indeed one of the best! We have been involved in the Breast Cancer 3 Day for 3 years now and she was one of Carol’s first training buddies for the 2006 walk and now she and I are running too, we are both still heavily involved in the 3 Day also, so… Thanks! I will try to keep you updated more often, no promises but… Run Good!
Not for me but for my granddaughter so she and Grandpa can go walking together! So go visit http://table4five.net/2008/04/03/scootababy-baby-sling-giveaway/ and tell her I sent you! No don’t try and win that is mine! Hehe! Oh and still no running! Run Good!
My worst ever time for a marathon! I knew that 9 weeks after Charlotte, and only getting the Sunday long runs in and a nasty virus / head /chest cold would put a kink in my achieving a decent time for the National Breast Cancer marathon, but… All that aside, the esteemed brother from NY his son from here and a workmate of the brother and I all drove 16 hours on Friday morning hung out on Saturday in Jacksonville ( read feet in the water, shorts and t shirts, etc. ) went to an awesome expo to pick up our packets and toed the line in Jacksonville FL on Sunday!!! The best times I have had running always include running with the family, bar none! Oh, you stat freaks will want to know 5:45 in almost 80 degree Fahrenheit temps!! Oh, and state # 12!! Run Good
Do you all, with the exception of Mark, know how it feels to run your 16 mile training long run in 6 degree weather, with a wind chill of -13??? Well I’m here to tell ya, it is cold!!!! I figure that after this run this morning, that took about 37 minutes longer than we thought it would , (oh and did I say it was all on the shoulder due to enough snow cover to hide any ice that might have been there), we are all set for Jacksonville in mid February!! Went walking 9 miles with the 3 Day girls yesterday, not as cold but walking versus running makes it feel colder and then the 16 this morning and thats it for the whole week, eek! RUN GOOD!
Mark has just finished the renovation on both the Complete Running Network and the Running Blog Family web pages. He would like all of us to go the Running Blog Family and re-join here. And…………..if you would be so kind as to post this message in your own blog so he can get the word out it will not only make his life easier but the R.B.F. SO much better!PLEASE!
The nephew and I got up this morning and headed out to Hines Drive to do our long run. We had a scheduled run of 12 miles to do. Our weather has been a little strange for SE Michigan this year, we have had a couple of 6-12 inch snow falls and temps in the low low single digits all in the past few weeks! Not unusual you say? Well, add in the fact that today it was 40 degrees at the start of our run at 8:00AM! Not really complaining, except I was having difficulty breathing in the 97% humidity and the car traffic, we were on the shoulder instead of the path due to our last snowfall had left the path an icy hazardous mess, that couldn’t really see us due to the freaking fog!!! But hey! It was a good twelve miles, and one week closer to the first National Breast Cancer Marathon on the 17th of February in warm sunny Jacksonville FL!! Next week… 14 miles… ready… begin!!
Yes Zoey, there is a Santa Claus! Zoey was born on the 19th of December and was welcomed into this world weighing 7lbs 12ozs by her Mommy & Daddy and me, her Grandpa! This morning I got to feed her another bottle and burp and rock her some too! Now I ask, what better Christmas present could there be??
After a 10 hour drive on Friday, the nephew, older (esteemed) brother, the former chiropractor now living in N. Cacalachi, two of her sisters and two of the brothers work mates all toed the line at the Charlotte Thunder Road Marathon! Did anyone ever tell you they have hills in NC? If they did they were lying to you! They have really, really big, long, high and sometimes… going up both sides freaking HILLS! But we all had a great time, it has been a year or so since the bro an I got to run together! This was my 14th marathon and my 11th state… but never fear… I will again toe the line, albeit with a smaller entourage, in February, just 9 weeks hence for the 1st annual National Breast Cancer Marathon in Jacksonville, FL! For all you stat freaks, 4:51 clock and 4:49 chip time with an age graded 4:09, will someone smarter than I please tell me what that is all about?? Oh, and the weather was super awesome!! 43 degrees at the start and 65 at the finish!!!! Run Good!
