At the end of January 2013 I rode in Tri it Multisport’s annual Spin-a-Thon. I weighed approx 240 pounds(photo on left at bottom). Heh, I still ran, I still trained but there was a whole lot of me packed into those sweat pants and tech shirts. I didn’t like how I looked and I certainly wasn’t happy with how I felt.
Well a year later I’ve lost 47 pounds. Was it easy? Well it wasn’t really all that hard either. Most of it was willpower, as in not eating the whole damn bag of rippled chips…lol. There were a lot of changes through the year.
I lost most of the weight between January and June and then my life kind of went sideways so I plateaued for a bit. What’s this sideways stuff? Well my ex and I split up. He moved on and I moved out. Gonna leave it at that. I bought a new home and barely got settled when I lost my job. No worries I had saved for a rainy day and the extra time off to settle into my new life was a good thing. Nikky and I have nicely settled into a lake community where we can train for our triathlon and running events. We are both doing well.
Life as a single woman is definitely different. I’m slowly getting used to it and enjoying it for the most part. Dating well, the jury is still out on that one…lol. That’s a topic for a whole other post…lol. Late in the year I got myself back into gear with training and continuing the weight loss. Heck I even lost weight during Christmas…lol. It helped that I didn’t have to cook a big turkey for anyone. I actually spent a quiet Christmas day with just myself and the dogs. Nikky was at her Dad’s in Edmonton for the Holidays.
So here we are it’s Jan 2014. Today I decided it was time for the before/after photos. Only in this case it’s more like the before and midway as I’m still planning to lose another 40 pounds in 2014.
