Corn!

I stopped at the corn stand that pass every day on the way to work (only this time I stopped on the way home).  The sign by the road had been taken down but I went up to the stand anyway.  It was self service!  All this time, I could have had fresh corn and I didn’t even know.  12 ears for $5.  Seemed like a good deal for corn he picked that morning.  Nice big ears too, not the scrawny things from Price Chopper.  I done got me a big bag o’ corn.

I ran 5 miles tonight.  Not very fast.  About 9:35 pace.  I guess its faster than normal.  I felt pretty good and it went by pretty quickly so I think I should be pleased.  I spent most of the time thinking about New Haven and what pace I wanted to try and hit.  9:00 at the slowest, and 8:45 if I can push it enough.  Depends on how much pizza I can eat.

Problems may be arising.  I need to start making the chocolate this weekend, but we have had some warmish weather.  I’m concerned it may not go well because of the heat.  Maybe I need to run the AC on Saturday?

I’m also trying to do a better job of tracking the calories and keeping target for how much I want to lose.  I was surprised today that when I ate my lunch throughout the day and not just at “lunchtime”, I found myself less hungry.  I even had to eat my salad in a hurry at the end of the day so I could get out of there before it got too late.  Today I ate far below the usual number of calories, but I wasn’t overly hungry and I even ate my chocolate today too.  I may not be thin for New Haven, but I’ll be damned if I’ll be overweight at the reunion!

Tomorrow I’m planning on an hour of cardio at the gym.  Sometimes things get in the way of this, so we’ll we how it ends up.

Mmmm, fresh sweet corn…it’s been a long time. Maybe you could rent out the walk-in cooler at your local supermarket to make your chocolate ;-)
