Running and racing
I’m still alive. Please don’t report this as a dead blog.
I’ve been running and training for New Haven. I ran a couple 5K’s so far this summer (which turned out dreadful and sad). At this point I am a full minute/mile behind my 5K PR. :(
A friend is learning to run again and she’s doing a 5K every month, which is really incredible to me since I ran a 5K every 6 months when I started. She has the running genes though, so its all coming back to her very quickly. Her only trouble is that she does not sweat. She gets heat stroke instead! When she ran trakc in high school, get got heat stroke twice. So her summer racing is a bit tough.
So I’m doing the races with her. We have a 5K in a week, and I have New Haven in September, a 5K a week after New Haven, and then a 10K in October. There’s also a 5K the week before the 10K and I really want to go because the start is walking distance from my house. Not sure. I might be pushing it.
Let’s see, uh, can’t think of much else. The new job is going well. Its nice to have paid vacation. :) I have a whole pile of new chocolate I wanted to post for Chocolate Friday. I just need to stop goofing around and start posting again. I miss having online friends. I feel like a drug addict who’s been on the street messed up for months. I know I should back away from the online games and get back to my “real” life. Its hard though, because its kinda fun.
So the next race is Run for the Roses at Grafton Lakes State Park. We did a practice run the other night and the hills are outrageous. I think the only place I ran hills like that was on the trails in Michigan. I don’t think this one will be a PR. :) We have another run at it tomorrow night so I think we will be ready for the race.
I’ve been reading the blogs but not really commenting. Sorry for being a lurker. I will be commenting more soon. Just need to ween myself off the new addiction. :)

Yes, you do sound very positive, life must be good. Which 10K are you running in October? I’ll be in the State that month.
